Your first week in Gurugram: a practical checklist
15 October 2026 · 4 min read

Gurugram moves fast, and your first week can feel like a lot. Here's a short checklist from the team that checks people in every day.
Day 1: a base near the metro
Don't sign a long lease on day one. Book somewhere flexible near your office or a Rapid Metro station for the first week or two. Our pods at Sector 46 and Sector 56 take guests from one night.
Day 1–2: get around
- Get an NCMC card or a Delhi Metro card. The Rapid Metro loop covers Golf Course Road and Cyber City.
- Install Uber, Ola and Rapido. Bike taxis are often the quickest way to beat traffic.
- Save your office and your stay as favourites, so late-night rides are one tap.
Day 2–3: the admin
- Keep digital and paper copies of your ID, offer letter and passport photos. HR and landlords will both ask.
- Update your address with your bank once you have a monthly address.
- Save local emergency numbers: 112 for emergencies, and the number of your building's manager.
Day 3–5: eat well without overspending
Delivery apps are everywhere, but costs add up fast. A stay with breakfast and dinner included takes care of two meals a day. Weekday lunch thalis near office parks usually cost ₹120–₹200.
Day 5–7: decide where to live long term
Spend an evening or two in the sectors you're considering. Check the commute at rush hour, the walk from the metro after dark, and the grocery shops nearby. If you like where you are, many of our guests simply switch to a monthly POD rate or move into a room at Commune Apartment.
